ISO Pipe Drawing App
Drawing Pipes (Click-to-Click)
- First click: sets the start point (shown with a red dot)
- Second click: sets the end point and creates the pipe segment
- After drawing, the end point becomes the next start point for chaining
- Press Escape to cancel and reset the start point
- Pipe snaps to the nearest isometric grid intersection
- Length is shown while drawing and on the finished pipe
Placing Other Elements
- Valves, fittings, instruments, and labels are placed with a single click
- Select the element type and sub-type from the toolbar before clicking
- Use separate flange and valve symbols to build arrangements like flange - valve - flange
- Fittings include elbows, tees, branches, reducers, single flanges, flange pairs, blind flanges, gaskets, unions, caps, welds, strainers, expansion joints, and olet taps
- For fittings, Direction sets the run/from side and To / Branch sets the other elbow or branch side
- With Snap on, fittings attach to nearby pipe endpoints or centerlines and inherit the pipe direction
- When chaining pipe runs, a change of direction automatically inserts an elbow at an endpoint, or a tee when branching from the middle of a pipe
Navigation
- Scroll to zoom in/out
- Middle-click drag or Space + drag to pan
- R to reset view
Pipe Colors
- Use the Color picker or preset dropdown to set line color before drawing
- Each pipe system can have its own color for easy identification
- Select an element and change color in the Properties panel
Tag Text Size
- Set Tag Size (8-36pt) before placing elements
- Larger tags are more readable on printed drawings
- Change per-element via Properties panel after selecting
Pipe Bends (with Expansion Dimensions)
- Select the Bend tool to place custom pipe bends
- Set Angle (30/45/60/90/180), Radius (1D/1.5D/3D/5D), From and To directions
- Set NPS (Nominal Pipe Size) for accurate dimension calculations
- Bend shows a detail box with calculated dimensions:
- R (Bend Radius), T/O (Take-Out)
- Rise (height expansion), Offset (lateral expansion)
- Arc (arc length through the bend)
- Dimension lines show expansion extent on the drawing
- Edit all bend properties via Properties panel after selecting
